Home
Home is your daily desk. Logging here fills Foodiary and Progress — start with the orange Log control, not a scavenger hunt through tabs.
If Progress looks empty, ask “did I log on Home with real kcal?” before assuming a bug.
Open Home, log one meal with Buddy, and watch Today’s Progress update.
Why this matters
Wrong-door logging is the most common frustration. People open Foodiary to invent a blank row, leave kcal empty, then wonder why Progress stays at zero. Home is built as the smart door into the ledger.
Home gathers the daily loop: Buddy Log / Talk food, quick actions (camera, mic, water), and Today’s Progress. That composition matches how successful days actually work.
Orientation saves willpower. When Home is the habit, the rest of the app becomes review and planning — not a maze.
What to understand
What you should recognise on Home.
- 1
Buddy Log / Talk food — the primary capture path
- 2
Quick actions — camera, gallery, mic, water
- 3
Today’s Progress — fills after logs with nutrition
- 4
Bottom tabs — Meal Plan, Foodiary, Progress, Spaces, Menu for other jobs
- 5
Deep coaching moments — confirm estimates before save when Buddy asks
Truth: Prefer Home for new meals. Foodiary is for review and corrections.
Truth: One honest log is enough. Ignore unused surfaces until you need them.
How to do this in real life
Make Home the reflex.
- 1
Open the app to Home by default
- 2
Tap the orange Log / Talk food strip
- 3
Speak, type, or attach a photo of the meal
- 4
Confirm Buddy’s estimate; adjust grams if you know better
- 5
Glance at Today’s Progress — then return to life
Buddy reduces friction and teaches while capturing. Progress on Home is immediate feedback that the loop worked.

Camera and gallery help when typing is slow. Mic helps when your hands are full. Water keeps hydration in the same ritual as meals.
Use the action that matches the moment — consistency beats loyalty to one input mode.
Today’s Progress
Treat it as a compass, not a courtroom. If it doesn’t move, check that the saved row has energy values and that you’re viewing today.
Common mistakes
-
“I added a Foodiary row with no kcal and thought Home was broken.”
Blank-kcal rows don’t teach Progress. Log via Buddy on Home or fill nutrition.
-
“I ignore Home because there are too many numbers.”
Use one control: Log. Numbers can wait until the habit sticks.
-
“I only open Progress tab, never Home.”
Progress needs inputs. Capture on Home first.
Home is where honesty becomes easy. Tap Log, confirm, glance, go — that is a complete Buddy day starter.
