Spaces
Spaces are how health scales beyond one person — family, friends, teams, and coaches improving together without Buddy owning your identity.
Keep personal logs honest even when sharing. Belonging helps adherence; performative logs help no one.
Open Spaces, review any invites, or note who you might invite when you’re ready — no pressure to create today.
Why this matters
Humans rarely improve alone. Shared goals, accountability, and celebration keep people showing up when motivation dips. That is Scale Health Success in product form.
Spaces collaborate; they do not replace your personal Foodiary. Buddy still coaches you. Desks (when relevant) help professionals support Spaces without owning collaboration data.
Privacy and appropriateness matter. Share what helps the group; keep what should stay personal. Belonging should feel safe.
What to understand
Spaces capabilities in plain language.
- 1
Join or create a Space
- 2
Invite members who share a real context (household, team, coach group)
- 3
Share appropriate progress — not every private detail by default
- 4
Use encouragement and challenges without shame culture
- 5
Keep logging your own meals on Home regardless of Space activity
Truth: Spaces are intentional groups. You control context and membership.
Truth: Honesty over Shame still applies. Real peers prefer truth to theatre.
How to do this in real life
Start small — one trusted Space.
- 1
Open the Spaces tab
- 2
Accept an invite or create a Space with a clear purpose
- 3
Invite only people who match that purpose
- 4
Agree norms: what is shared, how feedback sounds
- 5
Continue personal logging; use Space for support and celebration
- 6
Leave or mute if a Space becomes judgmental — safety first
Buddy remains your personal coach. Spaces add belonging. Together they support the Health Operating System’s social layer.
Family Spaces
Shared meal planning and gentle encouragement often work better than competitive leaderboards at home.
Protect kids’ dignity — Spaces are not a venue for public calorie policing.
Coach-supported Spaces
Coaches support; they should not seize ownership of your ground truth. Share what’s useful for guidance; keep recovery credentials and private logs under your control.
Common mistakes
-
“I inflated my logs so the group would be impressed.”
That breaks your Progress and the group’s trust. Honesty scales better.
-
“I joined ten Spaces and engaged with none.”
Belonging needs focus. One active Space beats ten badges.
-
“Someone shamed my weekend — so I stopped logging.”
Wrong culture. Address norms or leave. Don’t abandon your diary.
Health should spread. Start with people who make showing up easier — that is already Scale Health Success.
